A flexible, clean and cost-effective coloring process is a key requirement for manufacturers of EPS and XPS. But in an age of brand differentiation and the need for clear product identification, colors are another and increasingly important necessity. Holland Colours offers unique products that are based on renewably sourced wax carrier instead of a polymer which makes them truly sustainable. Our colorants also have no impact on key compound properties like insulation and flame retardancy.

HOLCOBATCH® 18 serie is a highly dispersed micro granule (0,4 mm) based on bio-wax carrier suitable for EPS. Low melting point (80°C) and small particles enable quick color release, creating uniform color distribution. It is very easy to colour Expanded Polystryren (EPS) if you use colorants from Holland Colours! There is no need to use additional flammable solvents during the expansion process.
You don’t need any extra equipment to color EPS beads, click here to learn more. Just add the colorant manually in the expander/extruder. However, an automated feeder is useful when colored EPS is frequently produced. The Holcobatch® colorant is directly fed into the expander. We recommend the Movacolor T-Kit dosing unit which is suitable for batch and continuous production.
A maximum of 0,5% dosing is sufficient to create strong and attractive pastel shades. More than this can affect the integrity of the final product, though this may not matter depending on what it is and its intended use. Deep colors and blacks are not possible. As well as a standard color palette, we can develop customized shades for specific needs. -

HOLCOPEARL® 85 serie is a highly dispersed granule (2,5 mm) based on bio wax & polymeric carrier suitable for XPS. Low melting point (125°C) offers smooth processing, uniform colouring and lower dosing levels compared to masterbatches. Ideal solution for colors with dosing levels starting from 0,2% upto 2% maximum.
