Primary antioxidants are phenolic-based and protect the finished products by scavenging peroxy radicals during it’s life time. Secondary antioxidants (phosphites or trioester) decompose hydroperoxides to prevent thermal degradation of polymers during processing especially when polymer is exposed to multiple heat histories. Antioxidants and light stabilizers are often used in combination to provide protection for the polymer during processing and afterwards during usage. Formulations can be combined with custom made colors.
